Alumnus of the Ecole Supérieur de Commerce de Paris (ESPC), one
of the three leading business school in France, Francis Wacziarg
came to India in 1970. He joined the French Trade Commission in
Mumbai as the Commercial Attaché, and subsequently moved to Delhi
where he was heading the Representative Office of Banque Nationale
de Paris. His role was primarily to advise foreign investors seeking
Indian partners or to develop projects in India.
In 1978, with the experience gained in the preceeding
years and aware of the market potential of exports from India,
he created the FRANCIS WACZIARG BUYING OFFICE, initially, with
3 employees.
Representing the precise need of European buyers
and helping them discover the huge potential of sourcing a wide
range of products from India, at very affordable prices, the Buying
House saw tremendous growth.
